Catzie is an award-winning writer and spoken word poet and the Creative Director of Laos in the House, a project that brings together Lao Americans in continuing their legacy through storytelling in the arts.
DJ Miss Joy
A first generation American, Miss Joy Ngaosivath's parents migrated from Laos to live free from the war in Southeast Asia. Her appreciation for music and dance has always been part of her character. In 2001, Miss Joy moved to Las Vegas from Seattle, Washington to pursue a professional DJ career. Popular magazines, such as Las Vegas Weekly and City Life Magazine have recognized and praised her work as Disc Jockey and performer. Check out her mixes here.
Chef Soulayphet Schwader, Executive Chef
Khe-Yo & Executive Chef Soulayphet Schwader will be treating our tastebuds to the delectable, hard-to-find, and hottest emerging cuisine – Laotian food. Soulayphet "Phet" Schwader grew up in the midwest--Wichita, Kansas, with an upbringing centered on preserving traditions from Laos, his homeland.
